Title: Exotic branes and gauge field theories
Room: 55N-02-Conference Room of Dept. of Appl. Phys. and Dept. of Phys.
In my recent work on exotic branes (arXiv:1602.08606), it turns out that exotic branes can also contribute to brane configuration in string theory and they play a significant role in gauge theories on branes. However, strict rules for exotic branes in brane construction scenario has not been completely understood yet. In this talk, I would like to introduce the necessity of exotic branes from the viewpoint of lower dimensional theories, and discuss properties different from those of standard branes. Further I explore the configurations in which the exotic branes have been (implicitly) utilized in the literature. Finally, I would like to argue cruial issues which should be solved in exotic brane physics.
